George LLP is proud to announce that Jared Forbus has been named Partner in its Los Angeles office effective September 1, 2026. Jared, a graduate of Haverford College and the University of Virginia School of Law, joined George LLP in September of 2024 after spending six years as a litigation associate at Latham & Watkins. He is experienced in all stages of litigation in state and federal courts, with particular expertise in areas of trade secret misappropriation, patent infringement, unfair competition, fraud, and breach of contract.
Most recently, Jared was recognized for his contributions in briefing Havana Docks Corp. v. Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd. et al. before the United States Supreme Court on behalf of Petitioner Havana Docks. Havana Docks prevailed, as the Supreme Court reversed the Eleventh Circuit and found in an 8-1 decision that an active property interest at the time of the alleged trafficking is not required to sustain a suit under the Helms-Burton Act.
